Fire and Brimstone

Originally written in 2013

If this is how the world is supposed to be let it rescind to ashes and be reborn.
For in this world holds the seed of a new society so covered in filth and corruption that we can barely even imagine what the surface of that seed looks like.
But know that the seed itself is not what is corrupted nor will it sprout destruction and darkness if it were planted but it is the corruption which must be purged from our society.
The seed of our bodies, our minds and hopes. The seed of our humanity has been shrouded in evil for so long we have actually begun to believe that that shroud is what we are rather than a temporary deviation from the norm.
We are the men and women who stand on the shoulders of giants. We stand upon a monument erected over centuries by the life and death of billions of individual humans. Brick by brick our brothers and sisters of present and past laid the foundations for our thoughts to grow.
Brick by brick great inventors, artists and revolutionaries built the tower of which we stand today.
Brick by brick our communities built up the society which sustains us.

Though Day by day the tools are wrenched from our hands.
Day by day the knowledge of those giants is hidden from us, locked or given only at a price.
Day by day the oppurtunity for each citizen to build humanities tower grows more scarce.
And we would be told that this is for our own good.
We would be told that the tools should rest only in the hands of experts as our schools teach us only to know we cannot achieve.
The screens would scream us into submission and politicians divide us for their gain.
We will be taught not to act directly but instead allow someone else make a decision about when and where we can build skyward.
We would be treated like children, too stupid to know what is best for us, too irresponsible to act without our hands held tight.

I am of the radical opinion that adults need not be treated like children and children need not be treated like idiots for our society to function.
I am of the radical opinion that the person who is most qualified to decide how a life is to be lived, how a job is to be worked, is not a politician, Councillor, manger or boss but he who is living and working himself!

For those of you who wish for a world worth passing on. For those of you who wish for co-operation not competition. For those of you who are sick of feeling like an observer of a life passing you by, follow me.
Let us become, The Generationals.
